Thanks to the support we receive from donors and volunteers like
you, International Bird Rescue mattered to the more than 5,000
birds admitted last year for treatment to the two wildlife centers
we manage in California.
Sometimes birds strand themselves in large numbers and the reasons
why are not clear, but because of the shear number of casualties,
International Bird Rescue treats emergencies like these as they
would an oil spill, with one significant difference - there is no
oil. This means that there is no responsible party and therefore no
financial support for our rescue effort.
It is the support of our friends in the community that enables us
to care for aquatic birds 365 days a year, develop our skills, and
be prepared for the next emergency.
