Reporting a Banded Bird

Banded Bird Reporting Form

For more info on our banding programs as well as other notable banding programs in California and the US, please visit our Banding Program page.  Note on brown pelican bands: the Blue Bands that we use have one letter followed by two numbers.  If you have spotted another color or use of different letter/number combinations, please visit the Banding Program page to find the appropriate place to report your sighting or report your sighting directly to the BBL.  Only reports for one of our programs should be made using this form.

If the bird you have seen is injured, please follow the instructions on the found a bird page for getting the bird to an appropriate rehabilitator or finding the appropriate contact to get help for the bird.

To upload multiple sightings with one report form, please download the template file ( txt version or xlsx version). Enter each unique sighting on a new row (column headers indicate required fields). Save the file and upload it using the photo file upload button.
